Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, Ferrets, Chinchillas and Meerkats… All in a days work for our London Vets!

Pintxo’s sore hips

12 year old Bearded Collie Pintxo was brought in to Wimbledon Vets for a routine check up. During his visit it became apparent that Pintxo has sore hips when manipulated so the vet decided it would be good to take some x-rays.

The radiographs show that Pintxo has mild arthritis in his hips. Viraf has prescribed pain relief which will make Pintxo feel a lot better.

A day out at Capel Manor College

Our Mayow vets team travelled to Capel Manor College in Crystal Palace to give health checks and vaccinations to some of the small animals living there. Nine Rabbits, three Cats and three Ferrets were examined, all of them with great names and personalities.

We were lucky enough to check out the Rats, Chinchillas and the new additions…… Meerkats!! A lovely afternoon out with a range of animals, providing a good challenge and a bit of excitement!!

Huey’s emergency surgery

We have never been so happy to send a patient home! 🎉 This lovely little guy came in to our hospital site Streatham Hill Vets earlier in the week after being missing for a few days. He had returned home with breathing difficulties so his owner rushed him in. Our vets took some x-rays and did an ultrasound of his chest. These showed that his abdominal organs were in his chest, as you can see below!

Our amazing vet Gabriella performed emergency surgery to repair the hole in his diaphragm. He has done so well in recovery and we were thrilled to see him reunited with his family!

Judy the star patient!

Our Mitcham Vets Surgery saw the lovely and beautiful Judy! She had a terrible cough so her mummy brought her in to be examined. She is now on a course of antibiotics and a course of inflammatory medication.

We will see if she has improved on her re-check. We wish you a speedy recovery Judy!!!

You are a star ⭐️ patient! 😊

Eddie the Eagle.. Rabbit

Here we have the very cute Eddie 😍, a 7 year old rabbit who had a big scare last week when something (we don’t know if it was a fox or a big cat) attacked him in the garden. Our team at the Animal Clinic took care of him as he was limping. Thankfully none of his legs were broken and he got away with a minor wound on his neck.

Eddie wasn’t even meant to be in the garden, he snuck out without his owner realising, luckily for him he made enough noise to alert his owner that he was in danger.

Unfortunately for rabbits, there are many dangers that lurk in the garden. Eddie was lucky he got away so lightly.
